Prof. Shi Jun is a reputable
academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a chemical engineering
expert and a master of great learning and integrity in the higher
education of chemical industry of our country. |
| He is engaged in education all his
life from a "extremely young professori¡± to a senior scholar
and has devoted the energies of a lifetime to the glorious cause
of training and bringing up a new generation. Among his students,
ten have been elected academicians of two academies. His students
can be found at home and abroad, so he is really worthy of the
old saying that "his students spread everywhere in the
world". He has gained break-through of important achievements
in scientific research of chemical thermodynamics,membrane separation
technique,absorption,drying and other fields and made significant
contribution to the theoretical construction of chemical engineering
and the development of chemical industry of our country. In
May 1992,the Ministry of Chemical Industry specially conferred
him the title of honor of the ¡°National Excellent Expert Who
Has Made Significant Contribution to the Chemical Industry¡±.
In 1998,he won the Heliang and Heli scientific and technological
advance. |
Prof. Tang Mingshu is an academician of the
Chinese Academy of Engineering and an expert in inorganic nonmetallic
materials.

| Over the past decades, he has made a systematic
study of the subject of "alkali-aggregate reaction"
which has influence on the life of concrete works and made a
major break-through in scientific theory and engineering application.
He invented the sandstone alkali-aggregate activity fast determination
method,which is known in the world as the Chinese Method ,and
is accepted as the national standard in China and France, His
achievements in scientific research won the second State Natural
Science Prize in 1987 and have been applied in large-scale concrete
works such as the Yangzi River Three-Gorge Dam and the Jiangyin
Yangtse River Bridge. |

Prof.Ouyang Pingkai is an academician of the Chinese Academy
of Engineering an an expert in biochemical industry.

| As a pioneer in the fields of biochemical engineering
study and engineering education, he took charge of the establishment
of the ¡°National Bioengineering Technology Research Center¡±.
The achievements which he was in charge of won the first and
third awards of the national scientific and technological advance,
and two first awards and one second award at provincial and
ministerial levels. He won the titles of the ¡°Young and Middle-aged
Experts Who Have Made Outstanding Contribution¡± at national
level, ¡°Model Worker of Jiangsu Province¡± and ¡°National Model
Teacher¡± one after another. In 2001,he was recommended as the
Chinese member of the World Chemical Engineering Council. |
